Once you have booked your ticket, send us an email or sms message (+66 81 090 5923) with your arrival time and a member of Buddha View staff with meet you at the pier on Koh Tao! Here are some ways of getting here:
Over land from Bangkok
You can purchase a joint ticket (VIP Bus + Ferry) to Koh Tao from BKK. Getting to Koh Tao this way takes about 7 hours road journey plus 2 hours ferry from Chumphon. Just go to any travel agent on Khao San road and purchase your ticket or book online by visiting www.lomprayah.com.
Two departure times are offered, leaving Bangkok at 9pm or 6am, arriving on Koh Tao at 6am or 2.45pm respectively. Tickets cost 850 Baht.
NOTE: Online booking must be completed 3 days before date of travel. Using a travel agent is probably a better choice as tickets can be booked on day of departure
Flying from Bangkok
Koh Tao does not have an airport. Getting to koh tao, you must fly to Koh Samui, then transfer to Koh Tao by boat. Bangkok Airways offers up to 22 flights per day to Koh Samui. If you want to go straight to Koh Tao upon arrival in Koh Samui we suggest you fly from Bangkok no later than 10am. Boat tickets, with free transfer to the pier are available from the airport in the baggage claim area
From Chumphon
Gettig to Koh Tao from here is easy. Again you can book online with Lomprayah. If you are spending a day or 2 in Chumphon we would recommend Fame Tour (www.chumphon-kohtao.com) as your base. Aeky, the owner is a very helpful guy. Great food, clean accommodation, motorbike rental etc and you can book your boat ticket to Koh Tao with him. Two departure times are offered, 7am and 1pm, arriving on Koh Tao 1 hour and 45 minutes later.
From Samui or Koh Phangan
Again you can book online with Lomprayah. The easiest option would be to book your ticket at any of the 100’s of travel agents you will see on both of these island. Boats from Koh Samui depart at 8am and 12.30pm, arriving to Koh Tao 1 hour and 45 minutes later. Boats from Koh Phangan depart at 8.30am and 1.30pm, arriving on Koh Tao 1 hour and 15 minutes later
